Sheep Dipping! MB44-258-2016-05-16 In early farming days, shearing and dipping were the two busy seasons for farmers. The photo shows sheep are being driven through a "dip" or "bath of insecticide" to protect against lice, keds, ticks and fly-strike. Farmers use long poles to ensure they were dipped right under at least once so their heads were also disinfected.
