This weeks image of the week is from our Rare Book Collection - A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
Dickens, C. (1843). A Christmas carol in prose : being a ghost story of Christmas. London, England: Chapman & Hall.
The library was fortunate enough to be donated this copy, via a bequest made to Lincoln University Library by the late Frank White, a Canterbury farmer. Lincoln University, with permission of the executors, invited the library to choose items which were outside the scope of their collection policy. Some of the books chosen include a first edition of Shelley’s Revolt of Islam (1818), a 1713 edition of Dryden’s Fables, several Dickens first editions including A Christmas Carol, as well as some fine illustrated works of the 19th century.
