Sociological images is a blog designed to encourage all kinds of people to exercise and develop their sociological imagination by presenting brief sociological discussions of compelling imagery that spans the breadth of sociological inquiry. The site contains nearly 5000 posts and receives over 500,000 visits each month. There are lots of interesting posts, from the social construct of our fears (remember quicksand?) to an outrageous graph demonstrating that lying with statistics can be simply a matter of presenting data in an unconventional way.
