Te Ara - Encyclopedia of New Zealand
Meaning 'the pathway' in Māori, Te Ara - The Encyclopedia of New Zealand, provides an excellent guide to the people, natural environment, history, culture, economy, and institutions of New Zealand.
The site is arranged into such themes as New Zealand peoples, Māori New Zealanders, the bush, the settled landscape, and the economy and the city.
The Coming Up page provides information about content still to be added by 2014 – Creative and Intellectual Life. You can contribute to Te Ara by adding your own story or image that relates to any of the subjects in Te Ara. There is also a flickr group where you can contribute photos – currently they are seeking photos of New Zealand libraries.
