Friday Free Stuff: Science fiction
08 June 2012

Of course Project Gutenberg holds a lot of classic SF (or under Precursors of Science Fiction). Many of these have been made into audiobooks, and New Zealand classics Erewhon and Anno Domini 2000 are on NZETC.
But there's plenty of modern SF around for free, too. The Baen Free Library offers novels by authors including David Weber, Lois McMaster Bujold, and Catherine Asaro. Short stories abound in online magazines -- just to begin with, try:
- Abyss and Apex
- Clarkesworld
- Electric Velocipede
- Escape Pod (audio short stories available as podcast)
- Expanded Horizons (focusing on diversity in authors and characters)
- Strange Horizons
