A big one is Social Science Research Network with its various sub-networks ranging from accounting, management, and political science to philosophy, classics, and music.
Another is arXiv, focused on pre-prints in physics, maths, computer science etc. They've just announced a new business model that will ensure its continued sustainability in providing open access research.
