Margaret Munro architectural drawings
Currently we are cataloguing a small collection of material relating to the pioneering architect Margaret Munro, who practiced in Ōtautahi between 1931 and 1975. Her style included more open living spaces that flowed into the garden, something less common for Munro’s period. Her consideration of clients use of a building and rooms was also a strong feature of her design while she often added ‘something different’ to enhance elements of the buildings.
Her life and work is fascinating and you can read more in the thesis on Margaret Munro by Mary-Jane Duffy on the UC Research Repository.
You can also find the records for the drawings we have catalogued on Kā Kohika.
