Library Services in COVID-19 Alert Level 3

24 April 2020

Academic staff and post graduate student new services

  • covid-19

During Alert Level 3 (from Tuesday 28 April) all libraries will remain closed.  This includes returns boxes, so please hold onto any items you have out.  We will continue to extend due dates on items out and have waived existing fines.

Online library services are still going strong and we are continually adding new online resources.  See the Library Covid 19 page for more information

In Level 3 we are pleased to be able to provide the following additional services to UC academic staff and post graduate students to aid teaching and research.

  • Click and Post – UC Academic staff and Postgraduate students can submit a request using the library catalogue.  Items will be retrieved and posted to Academic staff and Postgraduate students.  Delivery times are subject to postal service operations.
  • Scanning and digitisation – UC Academic staff and Postgraduate students can email library@canterbury.ac.nz for any scanning or digitisation requests where an electronic copy of the resource is not available.
  • Access to Macmillan Brown heritage and culture collections – UC Academic staff can email library@canterbury.ac.nz to request access to the Macmillan Brown Library for the purpose of teaching.  You will need to provide evidence that the activity and necessary safety plan for the activity has been approved.

See the Library Covid 19 page for more information about Level 3 Alert Level services.
