The University of Canterbury Law Students' Society (LAWSOC) exists for the benefit of UC law students. Membership is optional and is available to all law students.

LAWSOC objectives

LAWSOC's primary objectives are to represent the interests of law students and to enhance the student experience of law school, both academic and social.

The President also meets with the University of Canterbury Students' Association. At a national level, the President and the Competitions Coordinators attend Council meetings of the New Zealand Law Students' Association (NZLSA).
