Logging into your student IT account

All students enrolled at UC get a student IT account. You can log into your account using the IT Account Portal with your username and password to check your account usage.

How to reset your password

When you enrol at UC you set a temporary password which you need to reset before you can access your email or IT account. To reset your password, follow these steps:

1. Find your UC username and PIN

You need your UC username and PIN to reset your password. Your username is on your Canterbury Card above the barcode. The username is circled in the image below.

The Canterbury Card PIN is the number you set when you picked up your Canterbury Card from the Security Office.

2. Reset your password

You can then reset your password using online Password Reset Tool or by contacting the IT Service Desk by phone or in person.

  • Online: Go to the Password Reset Tool, enter your username, date of birth and PIN and then reset your password.
  • Phone:  Use our free call number (including mobile phones) 0508 UC IT HELP (0508 824 843) or call us on 03 369 5000.
  • In person:  Visit the IT Service Desk at the Central Library in the Puaka - James Hight building, Level 2, on the Ilam Campus.

Use the Password Reset Tool or contact the IT Service Desk by phone or in person.

Activate and manage your student IT account

Before you can access your student IT account, you will need to reset your IT account password by contacting the IT Service Desk.

The password you create when you activate your student IT account will also give you access to all UC online systems, including LEARN, library resources, OneDrive, CareerHub and myUC.

Changing your password

You can change your password online by logging into the IT Account Portal.
