Security on External Devices

When carrying sensitive work related information around on an external device such as a USB stick or hard-drive we recommend that you secure the relavant files with encryption software. This will ensure that if the device is lost or stolen that this information does not fall into the wrong hands and potentially cause harm to the University and its staff, students and community.

We recommend using the free open source software programme TrueCrypt.
