UC offers an Arrival Week Programme for all international students arriving to study at UC for the first time. It includes an official welcome, information sessions and social activities.
Monday 11 February 2019
The International Welcome is essential for all students commencing study in February 2019. The programme will help you get settled to start your semester here as well as a great opportunity to meet fellow students. You must register for the event. We will confirm the final programme closer to the date.
If you are newly arriving in New Zealand, you can contact the Student Experience team for information.
Academic Skills for International Students
At this free academic orientation, you will meet other international students and participate in workshops to prepare you for your studies. This event is designed for students from non-English-speaking countries, but all international students are welcome to register. The event includes academic writing, avoiding plagiarism and understanding university expectations.
To register email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note enrolment is limited to the first 30 registrations.
Adult Students’ Academic Orientation
If you are an adult student (20+ years) and have been away from study for some time, our Adult Students’ Academic Orientation may be for you! Topics covered include time management; critical thinking; academic style and conventions; and effective note-taking. This orientation programme will boost your confidence and help you to gain key skills for succeeding in your first year.
