Overview
Postgraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering offer students specialised training in research and creative engineering skills. Students can develop professional experience in areas such as product design, manufacturing, building services, power generation, transportation, and medical technologies.
Research projects are available in a range of areas, including:
- Acoustics and vibrations
- Biomedical
- Design
- Energy and thermodynamics
- Fluid dynamics
- Instrumentation, dynamics, and control

- Robotics, control, and instrumentation
Students intending to study at postgraduate level in Mechanical Engineering will normally be expected to have a completed Bachelor of Engineering with Honours or relevant equivalent degree, although there are some postgraduate engineering qualifications with a lower entrance requirement level.
Competence in written and spoken English is expected and if English is not your first language you will be required to meet UC's English Language Requirements.
