Audiology
Qualifications
Overview
Audiology is the scientific study of hearing, and hearing disorders. Audiologists are highly trained professionals dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis, and non-medical management of hearing and balance function.
The career is a rewarding one, suited to those with an interest in technology and science, but for whom working with people is important.
Audiology graduates are well-prepared for careers in public and private health care settings, or for following a career in fundamental or applied research in hearing science. Career opportunities for audiologists are excellent within Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world.
- Our Master of Audiology programme is endorsed by the New Zealand Audiological Society, and our graduates can work in many other countries including the UK, Ireland, Australia, and Canada.
- We have eight on-site speech and hearing clinics, and four research laboratories with state-of-the-art electronic and assessment equipment.
- You’ll get to work directly with clients and alongside top clinicians and researchers at our on-site clinics and research centres, in schools, hospitals, and more.
Successful applicants to UC's Audiology programmes have come from a diverse range of backgrounds, so even if you are not from the health sciences, we encourage your application. Entry is competitive, with the selection based on academic merit.
UC offers two postgraduate qualifications in Audiology:
