The Spatial and Image Learning (SAIL) group at University of Canterbury, we have been implementing machine learning applications for surveying road signage and road surfaces in collaboration with CCC and NZTA, using LiDAR and cameras images. UC SAIL has collected over 1000s Kms of NZ road, with 100GBs of data. This project would be combining multiple image sensors, for our group that include LiDAR, cameras, and GPS sensors. Also, you would get an in-depth R&D experience in current machine learning algorithms and compare their classification and segmentation performance.
