Defect-free membranes

Membrane separation processes require less operating and have lower capital costs than most other separation processes. However, the membrane materials required for some of these processes don't exist! One major obstacle is processing potential membrane materials into defect-free layers. This project explores up to five approaches for producing defect-free membranes with the aim of creating a generalizable strategy.
