Hashtag for Swag Competition Terms and Conditions

February 2016

  1. Information about how to enter forms part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the photo competition is deemed to be an acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. The competition starts on Friday the 19th of February 2016 and goes on to Sunday the 28th of February 2016. 
  3. By entering this competition each entrant or participant agrees to a complete release of Instagram.
  4. This competition is not in any way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram.
  5. To enter the Hashtag for Swag Competition the entrant must tag an Orientation Instagram picture with the hashtag #UCNOW.  Approved photos will be published to https://ucnow.canterbury.ac.nz/
  6. All photos are to be taken by the entrant and all entries will be reviewed by UC to determine whether they are valid and appropriate. UC Marketing will remove inappropriate images and edit or remove inappropriate tags or comments at their own discretion.
  7. Entry is open to any current UC Student. A valid student ID will be required to claim the prize.
  8. One (1) random winner will be chosen from the approved photos on Monday the 29th of February.  The winner will receive an ‘Ultimate UC Starter Pack’ containing the following items:
    UC Cap (Grey and Burgundy)
    UC USB
    - UC Drink bottle
    UC Backpack
    UC IB8 Exercise Book
    UC 1B5 Exercise book
    UC Pen Coloured Assorted x 3
    UC Scarf
    Crusaders student deal tickets x 2
    $100 UBS Voucher
  9. The name and photo of the winner will be published on the UC Facebook (www.facebook.com/universitycanterbury), Twitter (https://twitter.com/UCNZ), and Instagram pages (https://instagram.com/ucnz/).
  10. Attempts will be made to notify the winner via Instagram. If contact cannot be made via Instagram, the winner will need to contact UC Marketing to claim their prize (marketing@canterbury.ac.nz).
  11. By submitting a photo the entrant is giving approval for the photo to be displayed on the University of Canterbury website (www.canterbury.ac.nz), UCNow (https://ucnow.canterbury.ac.nz), University of Canterbury Facebook page (www.facebook.com/universitycanterbury), University of Canterbury Twitter page (https://twitter.com/UCNZ), and University of Canterbury Instagram account (https://instagram.com/ucnz/). Photos will continue to be shown after the competition is complete.
  12. Entrants agree that the photos are used only for viewing purposes and all copyright to the photo remains with the entrant, unless otherwise agreed between University of Canterbury and the entrant. Entrants’ photos may be used for press and publicity purposes but only when suitable notice and credit is given to the photographer.
  13. Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash.
  14. UC Marketing's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. UC reserves the right to disqualify any entry if it believes that the fairness and spirit of the competition has been compromised.
  15. The winner consents to their name and image being used for marketing purposes relating to this competition.
  16. By entering the entrant consents to certain information as provided being stored however no further communication will occur unless the entrant opts in. Furthermore UC will not provide this information to any third parties.
