UC Mechanical Engineering Alumni Runion 2019
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is hosting an alumni reunion in 2019. We would like to invite all of our alumni and former staff back to UC's Department of Mechanical Engineering, over the weekend of 13-14 April 2019. Alumni from all years are welcome to attend, from our Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering programmes. This is a great opportunity to see our new facilities and labs (which opened in 2018 as part of a $163 million engineering building refurbishment), celebrate the recent achievements of our staff, students and alumni with the wider alumni community, and unveil plans for a special project.
Saturday 13 April - 2-7pm - Alumni Reunion Function
Behind the scenes lab tours, campus tours, academic talks, displays and hands-on interactive activities, followed by a cocktail reception with our guest speaker Steve Gurney! Steve is a UC Mechanical Engineering Alumnus (1986) and Kiwi sporting icon. The event is open to all alumni of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, and former staff. It will be followed by individual class reunion events in the evening (organised by alumni classes). Engineering Core and Mechanical Enginering Labs, University of Canterbury.
Sunday 14 April - 10am-12pm - Engineering Heritage City Bus Tour
A guided bus tour of Christchurch, with an Engineering Heritage focus, showcasing new buildings and precincts, and earthquake damaged zones, with a stopover at the Arts Centre (old UC campus).
All events are ticketed, everyone must register.
