Food is an integral part of the way in which we express our cultural values and beliefs. Alongside language, almost nothing says “This is who we are” quite like our festive dishes and food traditions.
Fantastic Feasts explores the many facets of food in the ancient world, examining what the ancient Greeks and Romans actually ate, the connections they believed existed between food and the gods, and the feasting traditions they developed both to bring their communities together and to set them apart.
