Michael was an electrical and electronic engineering (EEE) master's student and a recipient of the 2020 EPECentre Postgraduate scholarship. He worked on the Joule Heating Log project, an ozone friendly alternative to methyl bromide fumigation. His research under Bill Heffernan and Michael Hayes' supervision, focused on the development of the smart-sensors to measure the current through different sections of a log during heating, and the embedded-system that governs the overall operation. Michael graduated from ARA (formerly CPIT) in 2015 with a Diploma of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics, and from UC in 2019 with a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours, also in EEE.
