Briefly describe yourself
Big on learning new things and trying out new activities.
Why did you choose to study at UC?
Being a country boy, I wanted to be in a place where the countryside was accessible. On top of this, UC has a top-class Engineering programme.
Feels like I've been studying Engineering for so long that I can't even realise why I picked it, all that I know is that I have enjoyed it from the moment I started.
How have you benefitted from the EPECentre scholarship?
EPECentre scholarship has provided me with fantastic opportunities to explore the power industry and gain connections. Also the financial support helps!
How would you like to contribute to the electricity industry after completing your studies?
I have dreams of working in Asia to help improve the Electrical and Power industry there.
What advice would you give to students thinking about engineering?
It may seem daunting at first but you will be more than prepared by UC's fantastic programme. Electrical Engineering itself is really fun. Just go for it, don't let anything hold you back from doing what you want to do.
What have been your highlights of the year?
The EPECentre Power Systems Field Trip in the North Island would be my highlight. I got to learn about the New Zealand power industry in person as it was happening.
