Abstract

Dr Steve Pawson from the School of Forestry will present a high-level overview of the structure of the NZ Biosecurity System and how it operates. UC Biosecurity Innovations is one of the three new research clusters and aims to strengthen NZ’s Biosecurity System. The work of the cluster is structured into four themes: Identifying and Assessing Risks, Detection Technologies, Engaging Communities, and Effective, resilient, collaborative biosecurity system architectures. Dr Pawson will provide an overview of these themes and opportunities for others throughout the College of Engineering to engage with the cluster.
