Abstract

There are many possible root causes for mechanical component failure in service, but there are only 4 common mechanisms: ductile overload, brittle overload, fatigue, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC). This seminar focusses on two recent failures that have been investigated at UC and published in the open literature:

  •      Failure Analysis of Shipping Container Handler Twistlock Pin
  •      Failure Analysis of a Jet Boat Steering Linkage

Come and learn about his research in failure analysis.
