Bishop's Research Activities

I am leading the Materials Science, Engineering and Modelling Group based at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. The MSEM Group's research lies at the intersection of the materials tetrahedron of interrelationships between materials structure, processing, properties and performance. Research interests span alloys, ceramics, composites and thin films.

You can find out more about what we do, our publications, current projects, and ways to join us on collaborative research here.

Pb-free materials

Models for phase transformations in electroceramics.

Ferrous alloys

Ferrous alloys for aggressive, high temperature applications.

High temperature electrolysis

High temperature electrolysis of mixed oxides is being investigated.

Oxide Films

Thin film structure-processing-properties relations are being developed for oxide films on various substrates.
