Student Clubs and Competitions

The University of Canterbury Motorsport (UCM) students with their custom-built electric car, UCM19.

Whether you're into robotics, rockets, motorsport or bioengineering, we have a club for you. While clubs at UC are student-led and run, UC Mechanical Engineering supports our students in their activities and competitions, through academic and technical support, mentoring and sponsorship.  Many clubs also have industry sponsorship and support. Get involved and join in!

Formula Student

Our UC Motorspot club has won multiple awards at the Formula Student international competitions, where they have designed, built and raced both electric and internal combustion cars.
