Cardiovascular disease and dysfunction are leading causes of ICU admission, costs, and mortality worldwide. Inadequate or incorrect diagnoses, despite considerable instrumentation, contribute to this problem. Improvement in the extraction of patient-specific information from these instruments has the potential to yield significant patient-centred value at little additional cost. This presentation focuses on a patient-specific modelling framework for the non-additionally invasive clinical estimation of the left-ventricular pressure-volume loop, an important, clinically unavailable and potentially diagnostic cardiovascular relationship.
