Abstract
Investigating the usage of current remote sensing and field camera surveys processed using an object detector to assess Weddell seal populations. By automating the detection of seals to understand their haul-out patterns, current limitations in spatial, temporal, and methodological monitoring for polar wildlife can be addressed.
