Zita Joyce

Dr Joyce can talk to students about a range of topics:

  • Current issues in media: Cambridge Analytica and Facebook privacy
  • Broadcasting and streaming services in Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Podcasting

Dr Zita Joyce is a senior lecture in Media and Communication at the University of Canterbury | Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha (UC). Her research and teaching examine production and audience practices in radio, television, media arts, and social media. Dr Joyce is from Christchurch and studied at UC, where she worked at student radio RDU. She has a PhD from the University of Auckland.

Dr Joyce can also talk to students about:

  • Post-disaster communication
  • Social media in personal life
  • Media audiences
  • New media art practices

She can also advise on two main areas to help students plan their tertiary study:

  • Choosing undergraduate media and communication courses
