University of Oxford

Each September, a group of students from the University of Oxford come to the University of Canterbury to take part in a three-week undergraduate research experience called Re-imagining the City: Christchurch.

The purpose of Re-Imagining the City: Christchurch is to provide an applied, supervised research experience for students from the University of Oxford, while at the same time generating fresh, external perspectives on key issues facing the city of Christchurch. In 2018, the eight participating students were tasked with developing ideas and recommendations for improving the resilience of Christchurch in response to climate change, sea level rise and extreme weather events.
