The School of Health Sciences | Te Kura Mātai Hauora is committed to making a significant contribution towards improving health outcomes and making meaningful change in people’s lives locally, nationally, and internationally. The School is home to passionate researchers who are leaders in their field and are responsive to emerging research and community changes and challenges.
The School offers programmes and research designed to meet the needs of modern healthcare and society. It is internationally recognised for its health and sport research and teaching. It produces sought-after graduates who are focused on sports sciences, population wellness, disease prevention, and delivering health services in the community, as well as being employment-ready to work in diverse and interdisciplinary environments.
We offer two undergraduate degrees, the Bachelor of Health Science and the Bachelor of Sport Coaching, along with postgraduate degrees in Health Sciences, Sport Coaching, Counselling, Child and Family Psychology, Nursing and Specialist Teaching.
We offer a range of undergraduate and graduate programmes designed to meet the needs of modern healthcare.
The College offers the only specialist sport coaching degree in New Zealand, the Bachelor of Sport Coaching.
