Start dates All students - on campus and distance
- Your programme of study starts on Monday 29 January. If you are fully enrolled you will be able to start accessing online resources via our Learn (Moodle) page from this date.
- From Monday 29 January - Friday 2 February, you will be required to attend a compulsory On-site intensive and Orientation programme in Christchurch. This will provide opportunities to meet fellow students and staff, develop study skills and learn about the qualification, the Faculty and UC.
- On your first day, Monday 29 January, you will arrive on Ilam campus at 8:15am C Block, to register and prepare for the Mihi whakatau (a formal welcome ceremony). Information about Mihi whakatau, including appropriate attire, can be found on our website.
- Your online timetable will provide confirmed times for required attendance.
- The compulsory orientation is an important introduction to UC's Faculty of Education and being a student here. You will meet fellow students and staff, learn study skills and have the structure of the qualification explained. You will, in the orientation period, begin some of your courses.
- Distance students last activity finishes 12 noon Friday 2 February.
- Please note noho marae occurs in semester two for this programme.

The Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood) is a 1 year full-time programme offered on campus (c) or distance (d) and is made up of the following compulsory courses:

International students
- International pre-service teachers must attend an International Orientation session on Friday 2 February 2024 from 1pm-2pm.
