About

My professional background includes ten years of classroom teaching in Primary schools including senior teaching and management positions. I have also been an Associate Teacher to student teachers and a Mentor Teacher to beginning teachers. I currently teach in Primary Education, beginning my lecturing role at the College of Education, Health and Human Development in 1998. I have taught in both pre and post service teacher education. I am nearing the completion of a Masters in Education, through the University of Canterbury. The focus of my Masters has been on educational leadership. My research interests include effective pedagogy (particularly inquiry, integrated and shared facilitated learning), culturally responsive pedagogies and curriculum development.
