Te Kura Whakangungu Kaiako | The School of Teacher Education provides a range of undergraduate, graduate and masters qualifications, teacher education programmes, and postgraduate endorsements in Specialist Teaching, Literacy, Teaching and Learning Languages, and Hoaka Pounamu. We will equip you with the education and skills you need to make a positive diﬀerence to the lives of children, youth, and adults, and to the communities in which they live.
We are committed to providing exemplary programmes for teachers, supervisors, curriculum specialists, and other professionals pursuing careers in education both in on-campus and distance deliveries. Our lecturers and professors are national and global leaders. We lead with Aotearoa New Zealand speciﬁc and international research on: student engagement in learning, education leadership and policy, early career learning and development for teachers, student and teacher leadership, children’s language and literacy learning, culturally responsive practices, inclusivity and equity in education and e-learning. Our graduates are sought after nationally and internationally and have a very high rate of employment.
