Learning the Ropes: A course for Provisionally Certificated Primary Teachers

How do you become a teacher the kids remember?

Will you be remembered for:

  • knowing and caring about your students?
  • having high expectations of both yourself and your students?
  • helping your students to be successful learners?
  • showing your students that you believe in them?
  • managing behaviour so everyone can learn?
  • your passion and your growing expertise as a teacher?

This series of workshops has been designed to assist provisionally certificated teachers in their first two years of teaching. The course will include an initial focus on classroom organisation and routines, behaviour management, dealing with parents and building relationships. The following sessions will have a broader curriculum focus which will include planning, organisation, content knowledge, current research and practical strategies to build your capacity to use the localised curriculum and cater to the diversity within your class.
