Scott is an experienced facilitator with a wide range of skills that enable him to tailor professional learning specific to the needs of the schools he works with. He has worked as a Literacy and English language learner facilitator, Regional Leader and mentor for schools in Programmes for Students: Accelerating Learning in Literacy (ALL) and prior to this he was an assessment facilitator.
Scott is passionate about quality learning for students, including literacy, across all learning areas of the New Zealand Curriculum. Scott is an adaptive, appreciative facilitator working collaboratively across all year levels to support leaders and teachers to achieve improved student learning outcomes, sustainable practices and systems, within and across schools.
Scott uses evidence-based inquiry to support schools focus on improved progress and achievement. His facilitation strengths include supporting schools to use qualitative evidence, developing learning communities within and across schools, and developing culturally responsive pedagogies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Scott has a Bachelor of Education, Diploma in Teaching and Practising Teacher Certificate.
In his spare time Scott enjoys time with family, friends, mountain biking, photography and exploring New Zealand, and other parts of the world.
