Description

Management of freshwater resources and current issues relating to the use of water. Topics will include; frameworks for water management, reconciling economic, environmental, social and cultural needs, conflicts over water resource use, legislative requirements, hazard management and mitigation, and future water uses. Includes a half-day fieldtrip.

PLEASE NOTE: The lecture delivery for this course differs from the standard three hour per week in-class format, as the course is delivered jointly with Lincoln University. Lectures are pre-recorded and available on LEARN, and are designed for viewing on a PC. There will be in class tutorials in the lecture room but check the course outline for these. There is a half day field trip included.

Prerequisites

45 points at 200 level in any subject area.
