Description

This course serves as an introduction to the basics of comparative political studies. It is designed to provide the student with a broad comparative overview of the world’s political systems. The main objective is to give students the necessary tools to assess and understand the differences in political culture, political organizations, governmental structures, and political behaviour.

Timetable Note

One hour tutorials will be held most weeks for students to discuss what is covered in the lectures in a smaller more intimate setting.  Tutorials will commence the 2nd week of the semester.  You are required to sign up for your tutorials through ‘My Timetable’. Once you have signed up for the tutorial class, you are required to stay in the same class for the whole semester (no shifting to and from other classes will be allowed). These tutorials are mandatory and students will find them helpful in illuminating the topics covered in class.  Your tutor is available to help you with this course.
