A significant music internship associated with a community or industry-focused project.
This course offers the opportunity to be involved in a significant community or industry-based music project, to be mentored through the process, and to create a reflective journal and present a seminar on the experience.
Upon successful completion of MUSA396, students will have had experience in :Researching, planning, presenting and implementing a significant musical project;Applying specific disciplinary knowledge within a community environment;Using a self-reflective approach to devise and analyse problem-solving initiatives;Critically evaluating project outcomes.
This course will provide students with an opportunity to develop the Graduate Attributes specified below:
Critically competent in a core academic discipline of their award
Students know and can critically evaluate and, where applicable, apply this knowledge to topics/issues within their majoring subject.
Employable, innovative and enterprising
Students will develop key skills and attributes sought by employers that can be used in a range of applications.
Engaged with the community
Students will have observed and understood a culture within a community by reflecting on their own performance and experiences within that community.
Any 60 points at 200 level from the Schedule V of the MusB, special application and interview and the permission of the Head of School.
