Description

ENVR301 advances students’ knowledge in environmental science focussing on coastal and urban areas. This course also develops professional skills required for environmental science including information management, working with communities, science communication, legal requirements and ethics.

Learning Outcomes

  • The goals of the course are to provide students with the opportunity to develop knowledge of real-world environmental science issues in urban and coastal areas and to provide students with the opportunity to develop professional skills specific to environmental science.

    By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Describe the contemporary environmental science challenges in urban and coastal areas.
  • Successfully work in interdisciplinary teams on group projects.
  • Apply the professional skills required to work as an environmental scientist.
  • Apply cultural concepts to the discipline of environmental science in the context of Aotearoa New Zealand.
