Description

Introduction to the clinical management of adults and children who stutter, including the clinical measurement of stuttering, the design of stuttering treatments, and the application of empirical and theoretical literature to clinical practice.

Assessment

Assessment Due Date Percentage  Description
Assignment 1 24 Jun 2016 10% Students will be required to observe one assessment and one treatment session on fluency disorders in the Department’s Speech and Hearing Clinics during semester 1.
Assignment 2 06 May 2016 20% Students will be required to submit (1) a script of a role-played discussion between a speech therapist and a parent regarding the cause and nature of stuttering and (2) a written rationale for the information included in the discussion.
Mid-term test 20% In-class test on Thursday the 31st of March, covering course content from weeks 1 through 4.
Final Test 02 Jun 2016 50% In-class test on Thursday the 2nd of June, covering course content from weeks 1 through 10, including case-based management strategies.
