Description

A course targeted at students who have an intermediate competency in speaking te reo Maori. Set in a total immersion environment, students actively engage with level 1 students in a tuakana/teina based environment to actively promote the conversational use of language skills that have been learnt in previous language courses. Students will extend their abilities in a range of conversational situations, and in listening to a range of speakers. Appropriate waiata, karakia, whakatauki and kiwaha will form the basis of the course while language games and interactive activities will accentuate the student’s language knowledge. Students must have already attained an intermediate level of te reo Maori at a tertiary level to successfully participate in this course. The course may also include a 3 day wananga reo at a local marae.
