Description

Compiling a portfolio of compositions (notated scores, together with some recordings)

Preparation of a professional portfolio of compositions that reflects the artistic personality and compositional voice of the student.

This course gives the student the opportunity to prepare a professional portfolio of creative work that they can use to represent them as they continue their career as a professional composer.

Under the guidance of the instructor the student will decide upon a series or works, or one substantial work, that they feel is of critical importance to their artistic advancement. During individual lessons the instructor will guide the student in targeted explorations of technique, repertoire, and notational practice (if relevant) geared towards the creative requirements of the portfolio. If relevant, the instructor will provide advice on compiling professional recordings of notated works.
