Description

Linear amplifiers. Operational amplifiers. Operational amplifier circuits. Nonlinear devices: diodes & transistors. Switching circuits. Power supplies, AC to DC conversion.

Topics covered include:
• Linear amplifiers,  Input / Output resistance
• Negative feedback                
• Ideal opamps    
• Opamp circuits
• BJT  DC Circuits and Stability
• Design of BJT circuits
• FET and MOSFET physical characteristics and design
• MOS switching circuits
• Multistage amplifiers

Learning Outcomes

  • At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Analyze and design basic amplifier circuit
  • Design an OpAmp amplifier circuit for specific application
  • Analyze and design basic MOSFET switching circuit
  • Design and analyze multistage am[pilfer circuits
  • Perform experimental work to determine electronic circuits behavior  and specifications.

PHYS102, MATH103 or EMTH119; or Approval of the Dean of Engineering and Forestry
