A continuation of EMTH118. Topics covered include methods and Engineering applications of calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra, along with an introduction to probability. This course is a prerequisite for many courses in engineering mathematics and other subjects at 200 level.
This occurrence of the course is for approved online students only. On-campus students should enrol in the (C) occurrence of this course.Students may be required to sit invigilated tests and exams in-person in Christchurch, or with off-campus in-person invigilation, or with online invigilation, depending on the student's location. Where online invigilation is required the student will need to ensure that they have a suitable internet connection and access to technology including a webcam, and may be required to download and install online invigilation software. Also see Clashes and alternative arrangementsEMTH119 consolidates concepts from EMTH118 and introduces more advanced ideas in calculus and linear algebra.
