Description

Participants will engage with current thinking and practice around decision-making in organisations and will develop skill in identifying, critically evaluating and using diverse decision-making models. This course is designed for those who hold, or aspire to, positional leadership. Drawing on theories of organisational psychology, culture and change management, participants will solve an organisational problem, negotiating the dynamics of planned and unplanned change, and change resistance.

Assessment

Assessment Due Date Percentage  Description
Assignment 1 45% Apply two decision-making models to decide the optimal approach to resolving an organisational challenge. (LO 2, 3, 4)
Assignment 2 45% Develop a detailed change management process to consider how you would implement the resulting decision. Course members will be required to show how principles of the Treaty of Waitangi can be translated into inclusive practices in the action plan accompanying the assignment. (LO 5, 6)
Online forum participation 10% For each of the five topics that are covered in the course, students make a forum post on a course reading or resource of their choice (LO 1, 2, 3, 4). Students are recommended to complete these on a fortnightly basis.
