APSY621 - Recruitment & Selection

Recruitment and selection are critical to achieving organisational goals and employee growth. In this postgraduate course, you will be learning the evidence-based practices for attracting and hiring the most appropriate talent for a job role. We will be covering three key stages in the recruitment and selection process: 1) conducting a job analysis, and 2) developing and 3) validating a selection system. You will apply what you are learning to a group project—a job analysis.

Throughout the course you will reflect on multiple contemporary challenges in recruitment and selection within Aotearoa New Zealand, including 1) the issue of bias on fairness and equity in personnel decision-making, and 2) the contrast between best practices and evidence-based practices in recruitment and selection, and our role in bridging the science-practice gap.
