Ngāti  Porou

Born and bred on the magical East Coast in Tokomaru Bay, Eva has whakapapa links to Ngāti Porou. As a wearer of many hats, Eva works part-time for Ākina as a Venture Manager delivering capability building programmes and coaching for social enterprises.

Eva specialises in social innovation, using human-centered design to develop capability programmes. Eva works primarily in the social enterprise, health and youth development sectors in Aotearoa. She travels nationally to design and facilitate programmes in social enterprise development, leadership and governance and training organisations in how to use human-centered design for social innovation. Eva recently co-founded Oi, a Māori social innovation collective looking to solve complex social problems through a systems approach.

Jill Borland

One of Ākina's more recent recruits, Jill is a change strategist, passionate about impacting the way we ‘do work’ in New Zealand; to enable the wellbeing of people and the environment to be at the centre of decision making. A creative solution finder with experience across the private, public and community sectors, Jill seeks to promote engagement and relationship building to enable supportive and coordinated ecosystems for ‘growing good’.
