Founder and Creative Director of global fashion brand OUT OF COMFORT
A Christchurch transplant from a small country town, learnt to sew at the age of 5 and never looked back!
Originally studying fashion design in 2010 at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand. Unfulfilled creatively Shannon wanted a new challenge so, a year on following her graduation, Shannon moved to London to take up an internship propelling her into the world of fashion on an international level.
After gaining huge experience overseas and a current visa coming to an end - Shannon returned home to start "OUT OF COMFORT" - launching her menswear label in 2017 in Christchurch and globally.
OUT OF COMFORT:
Out of Comfort is built on the idea that challenges conformity and embraces self expression.
Focused on a relaxed silhouette, with exaggerated accents for added finesse.
It is important to the OUT OF COMFORT brand DNA that it keeps its production roots in New Zealand, supporting local makers/tailors, suppliers, and skilled garment workers.
It is these genuine and personal experiences throughout the development process along with our design mantra "finding perfection in imperfection" that epitomises the brand and its commitment to create high quality clothing that adds value and longevity to any lifestyle.
Growing organically Out of Comfort celebrates individuals whilst adamant about deconstructing the norms of life and liberating others from the traditional mindset.
The result, being a young brand striving to create a space of creativity, substance, authenticity, collaboration and ultimately finding your comfort against the grain!
