Young Enterprise Scheme
UC Business School is proud to support The Lion Foundation Young Enterprise scheme in Canterbury.
The scheme is an exciting and practical way for young people to learn about the risks and rewards of going into business.
Entrepreneurship is an integral part of business in New Zealand and the school is committed to encouraging innovation and enterprise in Canterbury.
Product ideas are pitched to advisors and mentors from the UC Business School, the entré team and experts from the business community.
This Year Timata day will be held on the 26 and 27 February at the University of Canterbury Campus!
The College of Business and Law annually awards up to two Young Enterprise scholarships to outstanding students participating in the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme, within the South Island. One Young Enterprise scholarship is reserved for a student from the Canterbury region. The scholarship takes the form of a first-year tuition fees waiver of up to $5000.
The Young Enterprise Regional Awards are held in Term 4 to acknowledge the hard work of the Young Enterprise companies and celebrate their successes.
The 2016 Canterbury Regional Awards were held on 27 October at the University of Canterbury.
The 2017 Canterbury YES Regional Awards Evening were held on the 26 October at the University of Canterbury.
All students as part of the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme have to enter the Dragons' Den. As part of our support we help with judging, timing and being involved. Dragons' Den is where students pitch their ideas to a panel of industry professionals (or dragons).
The winner of the 2017 Dragons' Den was Earth to Earth from Westmount School.
