UC Business Bootcamp was an exciting new initiative that the UC Business School ran in 2018 for Year 13 students in Canterbury. Keep an eye out in October to find out what UC Business School will be running in 2019.

The UC Business Bootcamp has finished for 2018:

Thank you for all the teams, schools and students who were involved in the process.

The winning teams were:

Judges Winner: MC
Idea: A Gapfiller project for tourists that allow them to walk over Christchurch and see the key places to visit. The project also has an integrated app to show tourists how to get there.

Peoples Choice: All SORTs
Idea: A Gapfiller that put arts, culture and mental health at the core of their installations which included a meditation area, a keyboard that you can walk over to make sound and a picnic area.

 2018 Activities

The 2018 Activites included an introduction to UC and team building activities. During this time students attending the event get to know each other and discover the exciting things happening with UC's young entrepreneurs.

Next students worked on the Challenge. The Challenge is where they worked in teams to come up with a business idea: What could you place in an 80 by 100m space in the central city. The students worked in teams and had to use creative and innovative thinking.

As part of the challenge,  students also headed into the city and saw UC alumni and budding entrepreneurs in action. They visited a range of businesses and organisations, including EY, Greenhouse, Vodafone Xone and EPIC.

On the final day, students presented their business venture ideas to a panel of judges.
